Apple has great products, but we are going to be experiencing more than a recession. Donald Trump stated that what was going to happen in North America is going to make Russia look like a picnic during world war 2. The CEO of Wall-Street stated two years ago that there will be a world economic crash worse than what happened during the 1930's due to the amount of debt. The European Union Banks stated 1.5 years ago that they were preparing their banks for a world economic collapse. Unfortunately most of us are living the status quo and do not want to acknowledge that our way of life is going to drastically change. Unfortunately even a company as great as Apple will not be able to retain the level of what the stocks are worth even at todays low. My advice is pay of your debts... sell your stocks while you still have money, sell your home and then when the collapse occurs then invest.
LOL! The market has stabilized, and the worst of the credit 'crisis' is over. The only recession concerns the housing market- which was inflated due to speculation.
Maybe a little less NPR would do you some good...

Do we know how connected the Mac App Store and the iOS App Store are? Maybe they are toying with adding requirements to the Mac App Store and they accidentally also changed the iOS one too? All we have as far as requirements in the Mac App Store at the moment is OS version and they're all pretty much the same since there are only a couple OS revisions that can even run the Mac App Store. This is mostly problematic with games due to the fact that some computers can run 10.6.6 but not the more intensive 3D games.

Looks like that toolbar is just listing USB devices to me. Doesn't mean any of those will actually work under VMWare. Is there a Windows driver for built in iSight or Apple IR?
I don't know about the Apple IR, but supposedly the iSight Driver from the Bootcamp driver cd (burn the drivers using bootcamp) work splendidly, and allow you to use the iSight in a VM in VMware's app.

### Alienware is still significantly better in terms of performance specs. For $2700, you can build an Alienware with RAID HDs, etc. Biggest question for me is...is Apple still underclocking the GPU on the 15" model...??? To me, Apple's MBPs aren't as good as a value as their Mac Pro, but with this update, Apple's "in the ballpark"...and I would get the MBP over the Alienware...assuming Autodesk releases a UB of Maya soon. My two cents...

I've had about 6 kernel panics in about a time span of 2 months.
This can be caused by a number of things (on any computer; not just on a Mac):
- Bad RAM. More likely if you've added a 3rd party stick yourself.
- Bad power supply.
- Faulty (or noisy/dirty) house wiring. More noticable with a desktop than a laptop since the laptop's transformer will help isolate the computer from the noise.

Well thats fine and I understand many people don't need a professional app. But this person was complaining about a consumer app "Pages" not having all the features that he needed. Yet he claims vehemently that Pages can fully replace Word
Says who? I have used both and frankly I like Word better for handling graphics. Pages is great if your images work with your templates but if they don't you have to fart around with locking and unlocking, grouping and ungrouping, and it is extremely tedious.
You must not be able to read. Snowy clearly states that .pdf doesn't work for him because it doesn't allow double sided printing.

AutoCAD costs a measly $1400, and it has nowhere near the capabilities of ProE. So, by your logic, AutoCAD must not be a "professional" app, but a "consumer" app.
I've known a lot of engineers that would find such an assertion highly offensive.

That and Apples incredible profit is what makes them look so paranoid, petty, and stupid.
Instead of acting like the world class company they could be, Apple comes across as fools.
I must admit, I'm much happier being seen with my Galaxy S.
When one is seen in this town (New York) with an iPhone they look at you like "oh, you're one of those snobs".
Yet the irony is they're a dime a dozen here.

4G data for tethering (probably unlimited when in 4g) as well as a better screen (Not more pixels, just sharper pixels with better color balance. Perhaps a bigger screen.)

The most likely scenario would be reunification between the UTMS/GSM and CDMA software in iOS 4.4 or definitely iOS 5.
It appears that Apple forked the 4.2 code for the CDMA iPhone and there's no clean way to reincorporate those changes into the 4.3 branch.

Three to four bars of 3G at my house in suburban Detroit and I'm lucky if I can make a call and if I can, half the time it's dropped. And nobody can hear me anyway. I rarely receive calls and the missed call and voice-mails notifications don't show up till I leave home. Had Verizon for years and I can't remember ever dropping a call anywhere. But I love my iPhone and never did like Verizon.
This is exactly my experience in Brooklyn, NY. I'm considering going back to Verizon. How much does it cost o break the att contract?
