    I'm also a Conon user, and not so "big" a macro photographer as Gary( Sorry for the pun, ;) ), but I use the Canon 100mm macro, and I'm with you on wanting a longer macro. You have to get awfully close for good shots, and I think a little more length would work better for me.

    Also, on the autofocus that Gary mentioned, I like the faster autofocus on the Canon over the Sigma, not for macro, but simply because I can use it as a "normal" 100mm f/2.8, which saves me from having to carry another 100mm lens.

    BTW, this is not a typo, the user aarun clearly states in the reply to comments that these details are correct.

    Total anarchy!! How can this happen? EB3, June 2, 2004 was not current in June 2007!

    It struck me that all these years we have taken USCIS' word on the idea that they issue green cards by PD -- they don't release any statistics on greencards issued by PD and country, so we have no idea if they do this all the time, issue green cards any which way they like!

    I should add that I feel no animus against aarun, he/she is just like any one of us stuck in this lightless, informationless black box of a process, good that he/she got lucky. This incident is tremendously informative for the rest of us cos it tells us how logic free and lawless the process really is.

    I fail to see why these cases you are referring to are any worse off than many others.

    I filed my I485 in May 2007, have been current for more than a third of the interim period and still waiting.

    I have filed two service requests, two congressional enquiries and nothing. So have other people and it has not helped them either.

    We are all in a black hole hoping for our cases to see the light of day some time just like the WAC cases you refer to.

    Your lawyer does not know what he is talking about. There is no need to do anything. If you were on H1-B and still working at the same company, you are still under H1-B not under EAD no matter how you entered the USA.
    You will lose H1B status if and ONLY IF, you use EAD.

    AP is only a re-entry permit and has no effect on your immigration status.

    Now, my H1b expires in a few months. I am wondering whether I am eligible for H1b extension as I have Parolee I-94.

    Guys --
    I got 485 Card production order and welcome notice email yesterday . I am assuming that means I got PR . my company has filed for H1 -B extension last week itself . what will happen to that extension , do we need to revoke/withdraw that petition ?
    has anyone being in this situation ?

    How inconsiderate of you; you just hijacked someone elses's thread and to top it all you are spamming it trying to get an answer. Your question is also totally unrelated to this thread topic!

    Why don't you search the forum for answers and if none is available then post a new thread...

    People keep talking about RFE and LUD (soft LUD, hard LUD). Can someone explain what these are and what do they signify? I have my EAD, AP and my 140 is just approved. I have already passed 180 days after the filing of 485. If I change jobs can my employer still revoke my I-140 and harm my 485? These may be repeated questions but I am new to the forum .. and I m unable to get specific answers.

    If your I-140 is approved then the employer cannot revoke anything. You are completely free, under AC-21, to change employers. It is the situation with an unapproved I-140 that is ambiguous.

    The priority dates cannot be ported during the I-140 stage. This can be done only during 485 filing where in you have two I-140s approved and a request can be made to use the earlier priority date.

    Thats not ture. PD can be ported at the time of I-140 filing

    I had my interview on the 30th and my passport has not been delivered yet. The VFS website says that the passport has not been handed over to them as of today. I was not given any 221g slip/form and the VO told me that i should be getting my PP in 5 days, it's been a week now and VFS hasn't got the PP yet. Is there something i should be worried about? I have my return ticket booked for next weekend and i am getting a bit nervous about the whole scenario. Does anyone know if there is any other way to get in touch with the New Delhi consulate?

    We were exactly in the same situation few months ago. We were told that our visas have been issued and we will get our passports within 5-7 days (no 221g at the time of the interview). After 5 days when we contacted VFS they said wait upto 7 business days. I waited and then they gave me the number of the embassy. When we contacted embassy they said that an email has been sent to me asking more documents but we did not get any emails. We asked them to resend and after 3 days of our request we got their email with a soft copy of 221g(green).

    We wish that similar thing may not happen with anyone as we know the tension of going thru it.

    I would suggest that you call Embassy instead of calling VFS to get the real status. VFS will just tell if they got the passport or not. They can not tell you the reason.
