i got married with my husband right before he filed his i-485, so we can file it together. His i-485 recently got approved, mine is still pending since March 2007. After speaking with IO, I found out that my name check is pending. My name is not common, I had no interaction with a law agencies in any way. So, I suspect that name check is just an excuse.
My question is, can my marriage to my husband just before i-485 filing be a reason I am still waiting? Has anybody experienced something like this? I'm not from a country where arranged marriages are common practice and we have a child together.

I appeared for h1b stamping at new Delhi us embassy. VO kept my passport and forms for admin processing. VO told me it may take 2-4 weeks. they didn't give me any slips ( pink/yellow/green). I am not sure what kind of processing they wanted to do in my case

My I 485 package was returned as it didnt have the approval notice of I 140, which was submitted a day later than I485 by my company.
It is such a frustrating situation as i have been waiting since 1999 for my GC , and when i got this golden chance my company was not serious enuf to submit the papers in time !
I am doubting the company , as they would have done all this intentionally to keep me in their co. for longer time!The returned letter they have provided me shows no reference no, file no, or either my name ! how can i believe if they have even submitted any papers for I485 or not ?
They say they can refile again .. but duno what to do ??
Can anybody be kind enough to help me out here!

This is my third EAD renewal. My 485 is pending at NSC. I am in CA. All my previous EADs/APs etc were filed at NSC.
This time when my EAD renewal is filed (by my new attorney, in new company) I got receipt Number starting with MSC.
Who decides where to file MSC? What's the criteria to file at MSC? Shouldn't it be file at NSC?
Is this a mistake?
No it is not. It is the National Benefits Center receipt number. Mine got transferred from the TSC.

Hello everyone,
I had filed for my I485 on 19th July at Nebraska. My 90 days are getting over on 19th Oct. Still I have not received any receipts for I-485,EAD,I-131.
My lawyer is going to call USCIS to inquire about my case.
Does any one had experience calling USCIS after 90 days were over and the USCIS tracked your application and you got your receipts.
Would be great if any one can share there experiences.

There is no change really for Advance Parole applicants.
The form 131 is used for more than just AP applicants, its used for refugees and re-entry permits too.
Read this from page 2 of that memo.
Q. Do the revised Form I-131 instructions require advance parole applicants to complete biometrics?
A. Applicants for advance parole are not required to submit biometrics at this time. An applicant for advance parole must continue to submit two identical color photographs of the applicant taken within 30 days of the filing of the Form I-131 application.

2. I-140 pending (just filed) with details regular LC (EB3, PD Nov 2004).
Choices are:
A. Just file 485 with 140 with earlier PD(option2 ), and let both 140 and 485 continue.
B. File 485 with approved 140
C. Convert pending 140 into premium, and file 485. Is the extra $1000 justified for this?

I am applying to renew my EAD and looking at the paper Application on page 7 I see that if you are C9 which all of us are mostly..we need not file an application fee..

If you paid the new fees when you filed last year then you don't have to pay the fees again this time. But if you paid $180 for ead then pay again now.
